living as light

Ephesians 5:8- For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light.

I remember when my mom used to wake me up in the morning and immediately she would turn on the light to get me up. I went from being in a dead sleep, to being woken by the sun sitting right next to me. I felt like the light just appeared out of nowhere! Darkness, darkness, sleep, sleep, and then BOOM. And a goodmorning to you too, I guess?

As a girl, middle school can be pretty challenging. I mean, you’re surrounded by a world that is more focused on “worldly” living than godly living. It can be hard to find yourself in Christ and grow to know the Lord in a generation like that.

Most of us are so fixated on the opinions of boys, the thoughts of other girls around us, and the way we look. It can really consume our minds and change the way we live.

I grew up in a public school and for most of my time there, I fell so hard into the ways of the world. I never looked twice at life with the Lord. Once I started 8th grade, I grew in my faith and started to find a church community who helped me to know God. I am never going to be perfect, but now I know what it looks like to truly follow God in a world that is really lost.

I never knew a love like the Lord. I never knew a Father like God. Now that I do, thats all I want others to find.

I truly want you to know that true purpose and fulfillment only comes from Jesus. With Jesus, you are chosen, valued, worthy, and beautiful. - Despite what others think.

When you find the love that only God gives, you have to let go of the world and begin to walk with God.

You can’t hide your faith just so others accept you. The truth is, you can’t please everyone, and that's okay. - you are only living for an audience of 1.

We can’t be perfect at it, because only Jesus is, but we can begin to walk in freedom and share the light of Christ to the best of our ability.

His name deserves to be known and there is a light at the end of the tunnel for all. The darkness doesn’t last forever, and I hope that Live As Light begins to change the way you live for Jesus. Maybe now you are living for Him in private, or maybe you don’t even know Him. I pray that this is what you needed to know and live boldly for Jesus.

Our generation is in need of Jesus and I know that He can really, truly, most definitely, save you.

Let's stand up. Wake up. And be a generation that turns on the light for the world. We can sleep in the darkness, but when we turn on the light, we are all awake in Christ.

Wake up. Turn on the light. and change the world.
