there is power in prayer.

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. Colossians 4:2

About a year ago, I made it my goal to write every night in a prayer journal that one of my friends had gotten me. Some nights my prayers were two sentences, other nights they were three pages long!

I wrote when I was so angry at God, when I was overjoyed and praising God and when I didn’t even know what to say to Him.

When I began writing these letters to God, I was at my very lowest. I felt like I had so many chains tightened around me. I wanted control so bad.

Now, I look back on this prayer journal, which is all filled up, and now realize that every single prayer has been answered. The prayer for healing from fear.. answered. The prayer for Christian friends.. answered. The prayer for a healing from sadness… answered.

Our God is faithful, friends! He is so powerful and His timing is perfect- and this is just a little snippet of how I’ve witnessed it.

Ever since I finished that journal, I haven’t gotten back into the routine of writing every night... until now. I just recently started writing more letters to God, and I have already seen Him moving! He hears our cries out to Him, and He answers, at just the right moment.  He may not answer at that second, but at the perfect time for us, He will make it happen. (Isaiah 60:22).

 Here's a challenge:

For the next 2 weeks, make it your goal to write a letter, a prayer, every day to God. It doesn’t have to be perfect, but just say everything that is on your mind. Then, watch Him move! Not always is it going to be the outcome we want, but it will always be the outcome we need. God gives us what He knows is best, at just the right time. He works all things for your good! (Romans 8:28) All God be the Glory!
