trusting the Lord.

As I began the writing process for this week’s blog, I prayed, asking God what He wanted me to share to the world.

 I felt God reveal to me two simple, yet hard to execute words, “Trust Me.”

 When I heard this, it didn’t leave my mind. Those two words stuck with me and although I knew I wanted to write about it, I couldn’t grasp what to say.

  I prayed, I talked to mentors, and I thought about this big topic everyday.

 After praying about it, the story of trust that spoke out to me is about Abraham.

 Abraham, a well known guy in the Old Testament, was called by God to go to a place he had never heard of. But, Abraham trusted God, left all his people, and obeyed this calling.

 Imagine being asked to leave your family and all of your friends to go to a place you had never heard of.

 That would be a very hard thing to do!

  As a result of Abraham’s obedience, God made Abraham a blessing to the whole world and, that place he had never heard of became his inheritance.

 Maybe you have been in a similar situation. Has God called you into something with no context, no details, no nothing?

  Sometimes our first reaction in that moment is no. We may feel uncomfortable and in need of more details or direction.

God may ask us to embark on situations that are out of our comfort zone or even scary, but He will never ask us to do something without His guidance. His plan is always for our good.

 Learning to trust in God's plan for us may be the hardest act of faith we submit to.

In these moments, we can rely on His promises - promises like;

He is with you - Isaiah 41:10

He will NEVER leave you - Deuteronomy 31:8

He will be a lamp unto your feet - Psalm 119:105

The Lord is always with us, even when we are hesitant and apprehensive. It may be hard to grasp that, but trust in the Lord. He’s got you. Always!
